...of Christmas celebrations and saying farewell to our much loved Head Coach, Wayne. He will be so sorely missed. After some warm up drinks and delicious food generously provided by many parents, the evening kicked off with the Club Championships awards to celebrate many wins from last week. Successes, improvements, attendance and hard work were celebrated by both clubs, Anaconda SC and Hackney Aquatics. Great day of racing from the swimmers at Anaconda SC joint Club Championships with Hackney Aquatics. Taken place at Clisold Leisure Centre on Sunday 18 December 2022, there were plenty of talent on show especially from the younger squads - very impressive! A big round of applause to Anaconda SC coaches who were there to organise and manage the swimmers from ages 8 to over 16. The team building event between HAC and Anaconda’s new National Performance squad took place last Thursday evening in place of training. We organised an escape room for swimmers invited into the new squad and held a swimmers' meeting to set expectations for the new partnership. It was very successful, and the swimmers had lots of fun. A big well done to the Anaconda team at the National Arena League Round 3 in St Albans last Saturday. The swimmers performed above expectations and finished third after Watford and Putteridge. Final results are: 1st Watford Swimming Club 2nd Putteridge Swimming Club 3rd Anaconda Swimming Club 4th Hillingdon A Swimming Club 5th Shiverers Swimming Club It was a beautiful and fitting send off for Wayne who has worked tirelessly to get us to this level.

Joe has emailed out the timetable for the Club Championships taking place this weekend at Clissold Leisure Centre: Warm up 1 Girls 9:00-9:25 Boys 9:25-9:50 S1 10:00-12:20 Lunch break 12:20-13:00 Warm up 2 Boys 13:00-13:25 Girls 13:25-13:50 S2 14:00-15:45 Please arrive at 8:45 so that there is plenty of time to get changed and have a chat with coaches. Also make sure your child has warm clothing and lunch to hand. Let's do some fast racing.

Today's the deadline for Club Championships entries! If you have not entered your swimmers yet, please do so by tonight. All swimmers are expected to race all events and may be refused entry unless a legimate reason is given for entering only some events. A big well done to Annabel and Mabel who competed at the Swim England Winter Championships last weekend. A great display of short course swimming at national level from the girls. The mini time trial for Anaconda swimmers from Perf/JPA/Pre-Dev was held at Beacon High swimming pool on 24 November 2022 between 5:45-6:45pm. Swimmers aged from 8 to 16 years old were participating in all four strokes. Results to be posted shortly.
