It was with great pleasure that the Anaconda ¬†committee were able to unveil the “Ray Haggan Trophy” at this years 50m Club Championships to Ray our own “Mr Anaconda”.

After 30 years of service to Anaconda and a multitude of jobs, including Mini bus drjiver, fixtures secretary , Team manager and club administrator to name a few,the club contacted Middlesex ASA to see if we could have a trophy named in honour of Ray and they replied with a resounding yes. Frances Prentice the trophy secretary for Middlesex County said ” ‘I’m sure the whole county will be pleased the Anaconda SC are choosing to honour Ray in such an appropiate way” So from 2018 at the Middlesex ASA County Championships, the Ray Haggan trophy will be presented to the fastest Junior Girl (16yr/under) in the 50m Breaststroke.

It was fitting that ¬†Michelle, the clubs longest serving coach, presented Ray the new trophy at the Cally in front of the swimmers and parents at club champs. Club chairman Steve Greer said “I’ve known Ray for over 15 years and his dedication and commitment to the club is second to none and it is an honour to keep his name and legacy going with this Middlesex county trophy”

**(Do not worry Ray isn’t going anywhere)**
