Round 2 of this years National Arena League campaign saw another victory for Anaconda SC  at Southbury road and we have given ourselves every chance of gaining promotion to the Premier Division.

This round we achieved 30 podium finishes  and hit the 300 point mark but we were  pushed all the way by our local rivals Hackney Aquatics who finished 2nd. In the individual events we had 1st place finishes for Etti Hutt 13/u 100m free 1:04.6; Dorothy Brock 15/u 100m free 1:00.19; Elena Dewhurst 15/u 100m backstroke 1:09.95; Tommy Donovan Open 100m breaststroke 1:05.29 and Alan Smeets Open 100m backstroke 1:01.69. Coming 2nd in the individual events were Tommy in the 200IM 2:10.92 & 100m fly 58.58; Elena Open 100m free 59.43; Leto Atherton 15/u 100m fly 1:08.60; Mabel Hayes 13/u 100m backstroke 1:12.47; Leila Shafiq 13/u 100m breaststroke 1:21.88 (Club record) James Brealey 13/u 100m breaststroke 1:20.50; Helena Flynn 11/u 50m breaststroke 41.26; Rose Lin 11/u 50m fly 37.62; Rocco Giustiniani 11/u 50m fly 32.97; 3rd place finishes in individual events were achieved by Asa Williams 11/u 50m back 37.72; Lily Waite 13/u 100m fly 1:14.42 and Bruno Tubbs 13/u 100 free 1:04.64. Again the relay squads showed our strength in depth with every age group securing podium finishes.

Its all to “swim” for in the final round of this years National Arena League to be held at Barking in December.
