Anaconda SC once again had a very satisfying campaign at this years Middlesex County Championships (Youth 14yr+) held at the London Aquatics Centre. The squad of 41 swimmers reached 38 finals and came away with 13 medals, 5 Gold, 3 silver and 5 Bronze and plenty of PBs.

Elena Dewhurst (15) led the way with a hat-trick of Golds and a brace  of Bronze medals to add to her growing collection. Elena stormed to victory in the 50m free (26.73), 100m free (59.45) and 50m fly (29.74) and grabbed 3rd place finishes in the 50m back (32.30) and 200m free (2:16.68). The silverware didn’t end there as Elena was awarded the The Mark Foster cup and Arthur Summers cup for being the fastest Junior female (U/17) in the 50m free and 100m free respectively.

Sadie Goldin (14) carried on her good form this season by completing the double in the 50m back (31.68) and 100m back (1:11.12) with Gold medals to show for her hard work. Sadie also captured Bronze in the closest of 50m free races where only a hundredth of a second separated all three medalists with Sadie’s time of 28.03 just behind the joint winners on 28.02.

Alice Hockey (16) secured two Silver medals in the 200m Breaststroke (3:01.03) and the 50m Breaststroke (36.22) while Fred Goudie(19)  also claimed a Silver in the 50m breaststroke (30.73). Keeping on the breaststroke theme, Alice Bayley (14) battled hard to win a Bronze in the 50m breaststroke (36.38). Anatoly Bugakov (25) also had to battle hard to claim his Bronze in the 50m butterfly (26.64).
