Anaconda were represented by 19 swimmers at the Maurice and Daphne Short Memorial meet hosted by Hillingdon SC. A very high standard of opposition was a good test for our swimmers as we head to the end of the competitive season.
The club recorded 5 medal winning swims and plenty of personal bests over the two days. Leading the way was Ethan Harrington (19) back wearing the red cap of Anaconda during his summer break from the University of Tampa in the States, winning Gold in both the 50m and 200m Backstroke events in 26.66 and 2;04.87 respectively and claiming a Bronze in the 100m free in 52.8, with these times Ethan also became the clubs new open record holder for the tree events. Polly Rayner (14) also struck Gold in the 50m breaststroke with a time of 38.94. Emma Brealey (14) also hit the podium spot with a Bronze in the 100m breaststroke with 1:37.75.
